Winter Class of 1952

The W'52 50th Class Reunion was held in Santa Monica on April 13 & 14, 2002. After a tour of the Samohi campus on Saturday, everyone gathered at Elza and Lionel Ruhman's home for a reception and dinner. On Sunday, Tony and Helen Spaulding hosted a brunch. There was a lot of reminiscing with old friendships being renewed and new ones made. A special tribute was made to our class sponsor, Bob Crawford, who had a big part in guiding many on the road to success. Everyone had a great time and are looking forward to the next get-together.

1970 Class Reunion. Hey Classmates, it is getting that time again to see each other.

We had a 5, 10, 20, and a 30 year reunion. How about a 40 year reunion during the summer of 2010. The one thing that I have learned from all these past reunions are that we just want to see each other, talk, drink and eat. What we are looking at doing is having a "Tailgate Party" in the park. Saturday, May 19th, 2001 saw the Samohi Circle/Quad filled with over 350 alums from the classes of 1928 through 2003. The sight of old friends finding one another with quick glances at name tags and faces brought frequent looks of disbelief. Seems everyone's gotten older except me! Tours of Samohi, a quick pep rally in the Greek, and hundreds of stories (out numbered by loud guffaws) filled the cool afternoon. Fresh and tasty barbequed hotdogs and hamburgers, sodas, chips and cookies filled the hungry stomachs of shorts-clad alumni. A great time was had by all.

May 11 was the big day for the 2002 All Class Picnic, down at the quad. Of the 210 attending alumni, 3 were from the classes of 1936 - 1938; 33 were from 1940 - 1944; 36 were from 1945 - 1949; 41 were from 1950 - 1954; 14 were from 1955 & 1956; 11 were from 1957 & 1958; 22 were from 1960 & 1961; and 50 were from 1961 through the present.

All Class Picnic 2003

The 14th Annual SAA All Class Picnic took place on Saturday, May 17th, 2003 in the circle or at the quad at Samohi, depending on when you graduated. Festivities began at 11:00 a.m. with tasty, barbecued hot dogs and hamburgers, sodas, chips and cookies. Grads from all classes stopped by and shared memories and laughter.

On May 1st, the Samohi campus came alive with over 300 alumni from the classes of 1032 to 2004 sharing the enjoyment of being together, reliving golden days can connecting with the current students and atmosphere of Samohi. Along with embraces, perfect weather, food and generations of memorabilia, happy Vikings sang the Hymn of Praise as they shared that bery special bond and spirit of Samohi. The day was enlivened by the presence of incoming freshmen from Lincoln and John Adams as they attended an orientation assembly in the newly renovated Barnum Hall. Additionally, the new displays for the Hall of Fame, Distinguished Alumni and Distinguished Services awardees was unveiled.
