2000 Honorees     2005 Honorees

Santa Monica High School has nurtured many students through the years in their quest for knowledge, wisdom and culture. It is assumed with pardonable pride that the stature, as effective citizens in a democracy, of most of those who have shared in the influence and traditions of this school has been measurably enhanced. While being counted among the graduates of Samohi is an honor in itself, there are those inspired, energetic, dedicated or talented individuals who have gone on to attain eminence in their chosen professions. These run the gamut of constructive occupations including the role of the soldier, statesman, artist, athlete, scholar, scientist and educator.

Recipients of the Distinguished Service Award are not alumni but have contributed greatly to the education and development of Samohi students through their roles as teachers, administrators or staff of the High School.

Since their Alma Mater is proud of the achievements of its sons and daughters, it is the purpose of Samohi and the Samohi Alumni Association to pay them tribute. The Hall of Fame, Distinguished Alumni and Distinguished Service Programs are maintained as devices for inspiring and motivating students to their utmost excellence.
